For this first Property of the Fortnight, I’m going to feature my personal dream property. It’s nestled in the beautiful Parker Ranch neighbourhood of Saratoga and of all the houses I’ve seen it would definitely be the house I’d buy, I’m open to being gifted it too if you were wondering…
The house was designed and built by the owner, who happens to be local architect Paul Belotti, and was done in a Tudor style, drawing inspiration from old British estates. And boy does it feel like being back at home when you’re inside. There’s fireplaces galore, brick, wood, vaulted ceilings, courtyard gardens and the whole house just feels solid and sturdy which is actually an unusual feeling here in the Bay.
For all you nature lovers out there, there are trails aplenty in the neighbourhood, you can follow the Parker Ranch trail for 2.1 miles all the way to Fremont Older Open Space Preserve where you can access even more trails, or it’s less than a mile in the car. It’s also less than 7 miles to Sanborn County Park which Poppy assures me is amazing, I will let you know in due course!
Saratoga itself is a beautiful wee town with a few restaurants, cafes and of course wineries to explore. The schools are excellent and the elementary, middle and high schools are all within 2 miles of the house.
If you’re interested in having a look at the house you can check it out on Zillow, it’s currently up for sale at $3,749,000, having been recently reduced from $4,250,000, bargaineous! The listing agent is Tom Yore from KW Bay Area Estates and I believe there are open houses every weekend.
If you’re as impressed as me with the house you might want to check out Paul Belotti himself. His firm provides a variety of architectural and interior design consultation services including property selection, site planning, house design, construction drawings, interior design, custom furniture design, lighting, finishes, and more. So if you like the style of Parker Ranch but it’s not quite for you, maybe Paul can work his magic on your house, I know I’ll definitely be bearing him in mind!
If you come across any interesting, unique, or just plain weird properties in the Bay let me know, I'd love to feature them!
